　　报告人简介：

　　Professor Mody received his PhD training in the University of British Columbia, Canada, and has taken appointments in several prestigious institutions including Stanford University and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is now a Professor of Neurology, and Professor of Physiology in UCLA School of Medicine. Professor Mody is a world renowned expert in hippocampal physiology, especially in studies on interneurons and neuronal networks in neurological disorders such as epilepsy, stroke and Alzheimer's disease. He has published nearly 200 research papers and reviews, many of which appear in top journals including Cell, Nature and Science. Professor Mody’s academic achievements have brought him a number of prizes and awards in neuroscience, including the Epilepsy Research Award from American Epilepsy Society/Milken Family Foundation, the Jacob Javits Neuroscience Investigator Award from NIH/NINDS, and the Michael Prize for Outstanding International Accomplishment in Epilepsy Research.
