报告人简介:

 

 

Mike received his PhD in biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1972. He conducted his post-doctoral work at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York from 1972 to 1974 and moved to assume the role of Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology at SUNY Stony Brook from 1977 to 1979. He returned to UC Berkeley in 1980 as an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and went on to become Professor in 1984, Division Head of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2000, Co-Chair of the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB) from 2007 to 2010, and Chair of MCB from 2011 to 2012. In 2016, he steps into the role of Dean of the Division of Biological Sciences.

 

Mike has been a member of the Board of Trustees at Cold Spring Harbor and on the editorial board for the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science since 2009, and Chair of the Medical Advisory Board for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute since 2010. His many honors include Phi Betta Kappa; Damon Runyon-Walter Winchell Research Fellow (1974) with James Watson as his mentor; two-time NIH Merit Award recipient (1987/2005); American Academy of the Arts & Sciences Fellow (2001) and Member (2006); National Academy of Sciences Member (2008); and American Society of Microbiology Fellow (2009).
