报告题目：Autophagy and Necroptosis Pathways in the Pathogenesis of Chronic Kidney Disease

报告人简介：

Dr. Mary E. Choi is Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and Attending Physician at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell. Dr. Choi is a physician-scientist and an established investigator in the field of cell signal transduction and kidney pathobiology. Dr. Choi？ˉs research centers on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of kidney injury and fibrosis, such as diabetic nephropathy and progressive kidney diseases, in particular focusing on examining the mechanisms of signal transduction by Transforming Growth Factor-beta1 (TGF-*1). Dr. Choi？ˉs more recent work has focused on mechanisms of cytoprotection in the kidney, and elucidation of the cellular and molecular regulation of TGF-*1 induction of cytoprotectants, including heme oxygenase-1, carbon monoxide, and autophagy in the kidney. Her research program has been continuously funded through numerous mechanisms including the NIH Physician-Scientist Award, Grant-In-Aids from the American Heart Association, VA Career Development Award at the Advanced Level II, and the M.James Scherbenske Grant Award from the American Society of Nephrology.   Her additional contributions to the scientific community include serving on the Editorial Board of journals such as the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, American Journal of Physiology, Kidney Research and Clinical Practice, and Physiological Reports, as well as several key committees including the National Kidney Foundation, American Heart Association, and American Society of Nephrology.
