报告人简介

Dr. Tong Wang is a full Professor in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology and a joint faculty member of the Department of Internal Medicine, Section of Nephrology, Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Wang also serves as the Director of the Small Animal Physiology Core in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology and is co-Director of the Renal Physiology Core in the George M O'Brien Kidney Center at Yale University. She is a member of the American Physiological Society, American Society of Nephrology, American Heart Association and a member of the Salt and Water Club on the America east coast. As the PI of several research grants, she also serves as a grant reviewer for the National Kidney Research Foundation, NIH study section, American Heart Association and National Science Foundation in the US. She obtained an Honorary Masters degree from Yale University and received the National Research Service Award in the US. Her major research focus is characterizing the cellular and molecular mechanisms and regulation of electrolyte transport in kidney tubules and flow-induced changes in proximal tubule transport. In particular Dr. Wang focuses on the use of genetic manipulated animal models to conduct both in vivo and in vitro microperfusion of kidney tubules to characterize the functional roles of ion transporters, pumps and channels in physiology and transport lesions. Her laboratory has supported more than 50 research projects nationwide with 90 publications on different research projects. Research progress has been reported in invited lectures in the US and many other countries including, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Thailand and Switzerland.
