　　Dr. Siminovitch is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto and serves as the Director of the Lunenfeld’s Genomic Medicine Program at Mount Sinai Hospital.  Her research program is directed at identifying the molecular factors which regulate normal immune responses and which, when disrupted, result in immune deficiency or autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Siminovitch was awarded a Canada Research Chair in Immunogenomics (2005) and has received a CIHR Senior Scientist Award (2000-2005), an Arthritis Society of Canada Research Scientist Award (1992-2001), an Ontario Ministry of Health Cancer Scientist Award (1986-1996) and the Canadian Life and Health Association Medical Scholarship (1986-1992). Some of her recent publications include:

　　l         The autoimmune disease-associated PTPN22 variant promotes calpain-mediated Lyp/Pep degradation associated with lymphocyte and dendritic cell hyperresponsiveness. Nat Genet. 2011;43(9):902-7.
